I was selected by the Majestic Empire Foundation to be one of TWO production assistants for the 2024 Joci Awards. In my application I stated that I was well versed in almost all aspects of technical theatre, which allowed me to fill a number of roles needed through out the week of production. I acted as a stage manager, taking notes, ensuring performers had everything they needed, and kept track of time so that rehersal would flow accordingly. Before rehearsals I would spend time contructing a power point presentation that was going to be running during the night of the performance. I spent many hours creating text, grpahics, and transition effects for the presntation and quintuple checked that everything was perfect. The transitions specifically took a long time as they had to be the perfect duration to sync up with the overall technical vision of the directors. I then made sure that the master cue script was correct and continuosly updated not only the cues that I created, but also the ones for lighting and sound/mics. I trained the projection/video operator on how and when to time out their cues. I had to do a substantial amount of trouble shooting due to faulty software, even providing my personal laptop to run the show as it was up to date. The Joci Awards provided me with a very unique work expeirence and while I was focused on creating the projections, I learned some thing new about almost every aspect of the art that I hold so dear to my heart.
